Mechanisms for knowledge exchange: effectiveness in different contexts

David McDaid, PSSRU, LSE, United Kingdom

Abstract

This presentation will share learning from a two-year European Commission funded project – BRIDGE – that looked at efforts to broker information for health and long term care policy in different European countries. The project mapped various organisations undertaking such brokering work on health and long term care systems policy across the European Union and European Free Trade Area countries and looked at knowledge brokering mechanisms that are being used and the reasons they work and do not work.

Ways in which knowledge can be exchanged more effectively brought to bear on decision making will be discussed.
