Abstract

In this presentation, we will assess the potential to derive proxies for care outcomes from English social care administrative records. Two sets of indicators will be considered: destinational outcomes such as the risk of care home admission and mortality, and indicators of changes in health status and disability. Production function models are then estimated to attempt to link variations the times in such outcomes to the characteristics of service recipients and the types and levels of services received.
